Reliability estimates for three factor score predictors
نویسندگان
چکیده
Estimates for the reliability of Thurstone’s regression factor score predictor, Bartlett’s factor score predictor, and McDonald’s factor score predictor were proposed. As in KuderRichardson’s formula, the reliability estimates are based on a hypothetical set of equivalent items. The reliability estimates were compared by means of simulation studies. Overall, the reliability estimates were largest for the regression score predictor, so that the reliability estimates for Bartlett’s and McDonald’s factor score predictor should be compared with the reliability of the regression score predictor, whenever Bartlett’s or McDonald’s factor score predictor are to be computed. An R-script and an SPSS-script for the computation of the respective reliability estimates is presented.

Investigation of Factor structure, Reliability and Validity of compassion competence among nurses in Mashhad
Introduction: This study aimed to examine the factor structure, reliability and validity of the compassion competence scale. Methods: In a descriptive study with exploratory factor analysis, 330 nurses in government hospitals in Mashhad were selected by cluster sampling method and completed compassion competence scale (2010) and Professional Quality of Life Scale (2010). Data were analyzed by ...
متن کاملReliability and predictive validity of a hepatitis-related symptom inventory in HIV-infected individuals referred for Hepatitis C treatment
BACKGROUND We aimed to determine the reliability and validity of a hepatitis symptom inventory and to identify predictors of hepatitis C (HCV) treatment initiation in a cohort of HIV-infected patients. METHODS Prospective clinic based study that enrolled patients referred for HCV therapy consideration. A hepatitis symptom inventory and the Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression Scale (CE...
متن کاملInternal consistency, retest reliability, and their implications for personality scale validity.
The authors examined data (N = 34,108) on the differential reliability and validity of facet scales from the NEO Inventories. They evaluated the extent to which (a) psychometric properties of facet scales are generalizable across ages, cultures, and methods of measurement, and, (b) validity criteria are associated with different forms of reliability. Composite estimates of facet scale stability...
متن کاملAdvice on total-score reliability issues in psychosomatic measurement.
OBJECTIVE This article addresses three reliability issues that are problematic in the construction of scales intended for use in psychosomatic research, illustrates how these problems may lead to errors, and suggests solutions. METHODS We used psychometric results and present five computational studies. The first, third, and fourth studies are based on the generation of artificial data from p...
متن کاملReliability Estimation for Multimodal Error Prediction and Fusion
This paper focuses on the estimation of reliability of unimodal and multimodal verification decisions produced by biometric systems. Reliability estimates have been demonstrated to be an elegant tool for incorporating quality measures into the process of estimating the probability of correctness of the decisions. In this paper we compare decisionand score-level schemes of multimodal fusion usin...
